Facts about Words, Words, Words

1. I started this blog as a website to discuss my own books–but I quickly figured out that I was at least as interested in discussing other people’s books as much as my own, so I shifted my website over to and kept this as a separate book blog!

2. Number 1 is perhaps less surprising if you know that I have a Ph.D. in literature and spend my day job talking books all the time, too!

3. The title of this blog is taken from a line in Shakespeare’s Hamlet. I especially love the way Mel Gibson delivers the line, but I like seeing it performed in a number of ways. You can see my comments on it on my very first post on this blog.

4. I love interacting with people on my blog almost as much as I like writing fiction, so I’d love to hear from you! Tell me: what do you like best about book blogs?

Enter to Win

When Dallas resident Callie Taylor died young, she expected to go to Heaven, or maybe Hell. Instead, when she met her fate early thanks to a creep with a knife and a mommy complex, she went to Alabama. Now she’s witnessed another murder, and she’s not about to let this one go. She’s determined to help solve it before an innocent man goes to prison. And to answer the biggest question of all: why the hell did she wake up in Alabama?

  1. I love reading reviews (as long as they are completely spoiler-free) of books I’m contemplating reading or have actually read and reviewed myself. It’s always so nice to get another opinion.

The PHD is cool. You def put in some work, I can only imagine. What I like best about romance book blogs are the personalities, I love getting the different perspective on books and how they are conveyed so differently because of that individual person.

Nice to meet’cha 🙂 Thanks for such a fun post!

  5. It’s great to know more about you, Margo. How do you rate teaching online vs. the classroom (not counting the commute). Just curious as the college I used to work for wanted to implement some online courses and met heavy, heavy resistance from the profs.

  6. Interactiing with other readers and authors is the best about blogging..well, that and getting to talk about the books you love 😉

  7. Cheryl Rogers says:

It is a bit intimidating for me to write on your blog knowing you have a PHD. I am sure my blog response could not even hold up to your scrutiny! But I am glad to hear that you like to interact with others about books, I am sure that gives you fresh perspectives on how others enjoy your reading and others.

A job where you can talk books all day long. That is truly heaven! Thanks so much for joining in Margo!

I like the personalities of different bloggers. Sometimes reviews don’t show how well-read or interesting the reviewers are and the blogs do!

  11. I love reading reviews, discussions, and news about books and the book world. Being able to read about and discuss books and see what other people think is wonderful.

What I like best about book blogs is reading reviews and learning about books I would never have come across or thought to read. Nice to meet you margo, I like your blog. Have a great weekend.

  13. Denise Z says:

I love book blogs and really think they got me back into the land of the living and out of my own little world of working – reading – working – reading. It was such a wonder to find that there are others out there that love to read as I do and that they are willing to share all things books. Thank you for sharing a part of you with us 🙂

  14. Trix says:

I love finding new authors and genres!

  15. I love learning about books and having different kinds of reviews, good and bad, about the same book. When I was a kid, I thought there were “good” books and “bad” books, so I never dared say I didn’t like a “good” book. Now I don’t care, and different points of views are so enriching ! Thanks for sharing 🙂

If I continue to be lucky I’ve found a couple of my best friends through book blogging and twitter if you can believe it. It’s nice to share ideas and talk about the biz with someone who is going through the same…or ahead of me, get some sage advice. Love finding good books to read. Thx for sharing, June
